Spring 2026 Junior Lifeguard Cadets

• This is a prep program for junior lifeguards as well as an introduction program for all the careers offered at the Port of Los Angeles. We'll be meeting at Cabrillo Beach for physical activities and take field trips around the Port of Los Angeles to meet our people who make our port town run.
• The program will be on Saturday mornings starting April 25th and concluding June 6th.
• Age requirement: 12 years old to 18 years old (must 12 years by April 25th)
• Swim test will be held at Banning Pool 1450 N Avalon Blvd Wilmington, CA 90744 on Saturdays 1:00pm-3:00pm starting Saturday March 7th
• Swim test requirement is 100 yard free style in 1 minute 59 or less
• The program is FREE. Register here once swim test is complete.

Junior Lifeguards Summer 2026

• Previous Cabrillo Beach junior lifeguard participants may register here. Previous participants do not need to swim test to register.
• New participants must complete swim test before registerstration!
• Swim test requirement is a 100 yard swim test in 1 minute 59 seconds or less
• Participants must be 9 years to 17 years old (must be 9 years by Monday June 22nd)
• Program is 7 weeks Monday through Friday 8:00am-12:00pm starting Monday June 22nd, 2026 and concluding Friday August 7th, 2026.
