General Information

Barrington Recreation Center is located on Barrington Avenue in the Brentwood Neighborhood and offers a wide variety of amenities and programs for the community. The center features an auditorium; lighted and unlighted baseball diamonds; lighted indoor and outdoor basketball courts; a children’s play area; a lighted football field; an indoor gymnasium (without weights); two rentable picnic areas; a lighted soccer field; lighted tennis courts; a kitchen; and a stage. Moon bounce permits are issued for Picnic Area #1 only.

The recreation building, including restrooms, is open during regular facility hours only and will be locked at all other times. Grills or additional equipment are not permitted unless pre-approved by the recreation center. Our staff, instructors, and volunteers offer a variety of programs and activities for the community, including art classes, seasonal camp programs, sports programs, and dance and fitness classes.

Registration & Payment

• Register online at recreation.parks.lacity.gov by clicking the "Register Now" button at the top of the page.
• Online payments are accepted by Visa and MasterCard only.

For in-person registration, please visit the Barrington Recreation Center Office, located next to Picnic Area #2 by the covered patio.

REFUND POLICIES

There are no refunds or credits for missed days by the participant. No full refunds will be issued unless the program is canceled by the Rec Center Additional fees may be charged for any supplies ordered. REFUNDS CAN TAKE UP TO 6-8 WEEKS. Credit card payments will be refunded to the original credit card used; if you paid with a check, a check will be mailed to the patron/organization who paid.
 

• CLASSES & SPORTS LEAGUES: Refund requests must be submitted one week (7 days) prior to the activity beginning. A 15% administrative fee will be assessed by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks for any patron granted a refund.
• CAMPS: Refund requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the camp week beginning. A 15% administrative fee will be assessed by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks for any patron granted a refund.
• PERMITS: More than two weeks before the activity begins: 50% of facility usage fees refunded. Less than two weeks before the activity begins: NO REFUNDS unless canceled by the recreation center or rained out.

Picnic, Field Space, Tennis Courts, or Gym Permit Information

Completed permit applications must be submitted at least one month prior to the event date, along with full payment of fees and a valid insurance policy uploaded to KwikComply (kwikcomply.org). Barrington Recreation Center offers two picnic areas available for rental. Outside grills or any additional equipment not pre-approved by the recreation center are not permitted.

Sports Information

Barrington Recreation Center offers youth sports leagues for children ages 5-15, provided all age requirements are met. Sports offerings include Co-Rec & Girls Flag Football and Co-Rec & Girls Basketball.

Class Registration Information

Current class offerings can be viewed below or through the online catalog (see Registration & Payment above). For additional information, please call 310-476-4866. Classes generally run for eight weeks, unless otherwise noted. Participants must meet age requirements at the time of enrollment, and staff reserves the right to request proof of age at any time. Visa and MasterCard are accepted for online registration. Please refer to the refund policy listed above for additional details.

Season Youth Camp Programming

Barrington Recreation Center offers Winter, Spring, and Summer Tennis Camps. Camp dates vary but generally follow the LAUSD calendar. For additional information, please see the flyers posted below when available.

Annual Community Special Events

Barrington Recreation Center hosts several annual community events, including the Spring Festival, Halloween Festival, Turkey Jam, and Winter Festival. For additional information, please refer to event flyers when posted.

The Park Advisory Board

Barrington's Park Advisory Board meets one evening each quarter. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the office at 310-476-4866.

The Park Advisory Board partners with the LA Parks Foundation to provide sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and to host fundraising events that help enhance Barrington Recreation Center.
