ACTIVITY REFUND POLICY:
- A 15% fee will be assessed by the recreation center for any patron granted a refund, change, or transfer per class or sports league registration. After the first day of a session the recreation center issues a partial refund to patrons withdrawing from an activity.
- No full refunds will be issued unless a class or sports league is cancelled by the center.
- Credit or make-ups will not be given for classes missed by patrons
- There will be no prorating for classes.
We reserve the right to cancel/combine classes if the minimum enrollment is not met.
PICNIC PERMITS:
There are designated picnic area permits available for group sizes 20 persons and above. Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks to process all permit requests. Outdoor Areas can be reserved up to 6 months in advance. Department approved Moonbounces are only allowed in PICNIC AREA #3 (LARGE GRASS AREA). The recreation building (including restrooms) will be open during facility hours only, and will be locked at all other times. AMPLIFIED SOUND IS NOT PERMITTED IN OUTDOOR AREAS or other extra equipment not pre-approved by the Recreation center. SPECIAL EVENTS (Festivals, concerts, etc.) REQUIRE A MORE EXTENSIVE PERMIT PROCESS AND ARE ONLY APPROVED BETWEEN NON-PEAK SEASON (POST LABOR DAY UNTIL 1 WEEK PRIOR TO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EACH YEAR).
Filming and Photography Permits:
STEP #1. Contact the Facility Director at Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse for all Film permit requests to verify date availability (310) 548-7554.
STEP #2. Contact the Park Film Office (323) 644-6220 to confirm step #1 is complete and formally submit the Film Permit Application for requested date(s).
For Ballroom and Outdoor Wedding rental, call the number above for price and availability. Capacity - ballroom 200 people. Cabrillo Beach Bath House is located inside the Cabrillo Beach parking lot. Parking is managed by the Park Services Division. Wind-Surf unload zone is across from County of Los Angeles Life Guard Office.
Facility Rental
The historical Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse is available for rental, featuring an upstairs ballroom and an outdoor patio with beautiful ocean views.
Application and Process
To begin, please submit an application via email for our review. Once we confirm your requested date and time, you will need to create an account on our website to process your payment. While we can communicate via email, phone, or in person, we highly recommend scheduling a venue tour to address any questions regarding our rules and regulations.
Please account for all hours needed when estimating your event cost (Set-up, event, breakdown). Add 1 hour for each: Rec staff, Maintenance, Security as they must arrive/leave 30 minutes prior/after the permit time requested.
We can determine your total fees after you complete and scan the attached application.
Venue Tours
- Availability: Monday – Saturday, 10:00am-2:00pm (By appointment only).
- Duration: 20 minutes to 1 hour.
- Parking: $1.00 per hour.
Permit Guidelines
- Locations: Permits are available for the Indoor Ballroom (case-by-case) and the Outdoor Lawn/Patio.
- Sound: Music is permitted until 10:00pm on the Rear Lawn only.
- Catering: Catering is preferred; cooking on site/grilling is restricted to the outdoor patio/lawn only.
- Event Times: Indoor events must conclude by midnight with cleanup finished by 1:00am
- Alcohol: Service must stop one hour before the event ends.

Fees are as follows with a 4 hour minimum:
Deposit (80% refundable) = $300
Rec Staff = $30/hour
Maintenance = $55/ hour & $101.25(OT rate)
Contract Security = $67.50/ hour (covers 2 guards) Events beyond 8 hours are overtime rated at $101.25 per additional hour. Mandatory
Outdoor Area fee = $50/ hour
Indoor Area fee = $75/ hour + $150 flat rate for adding the Outdoor Area if requested.
TABLE RENTAL: < 10 = $100.00 / 10+ = $125.00
CHAIR RENTAL: < 100 = $75.00 / 100+ = $125.00
